When protection breaks down, Cross can escape pressure, get into the open field, and gash a defense with his legs. He runs with confidence and shows the ability to make defenders pay when running lanes open. As a passer, Cross displays a quick release and good accuracy, particularly in the short and intermediate passing game. He gets the football out efficiently and consistently delivers catchable passes to underneath receivers, allowing them to make plays after the catch. His ability to make quick decisions and distribute the football gives an offense the opportunity to stay on schedule and keep pressure on the defense.
